Lookin' A Lot Like Fall

Fall in Kentucky has been anything but this year. It’s been nearly 90° for days, but I’m ready to pretend it’s feelin’ like fall y’all!
After visiting Eckert’s Orchard and Sunshine Grow Shop, I was ready to bring out all of the fall decor and go to work.
While at the orchard, I picked out some of the “misfit” pumpkins, because they have plenty of character. When we visited Sunshine Grow Shop, I picked out a couple of their gorgeous mums and a hay bale. I put these all together, and paired it all with a “Bless this Home” sign I already had from a local boutique and loved how it looks!
Inside our living room, I put together this fall arrangement as well. One of my favorite parts: the colors- they’re so warm and cozy!
Most of the elements are from Hobby Lobby. I picked up the artificial florals last year, along with the basket & “Happy Fall” sign.
I love arranging decor on wood discs. I think it adds a certain southern, homey touch.
When arranging it all, I like to lay everything out on the floor. I look at all of my elements, then go to it. Sometimes I like how it looks on the first try, other times I re-arrange and try again.
There’s no perfect look, it’s all up to what you like. I love complimenting colors & different textures.
This is the third element of my living room fall decor. There’s nothing that screams fall about it, but I think it looks so cozy.
I picked up the basket at Michael’s, the cotton and florals at other craft stores.
This basket is shallow, and I like my arrangements to have some volume- just like a southern gal likes her hair. To get volume in my arrangements, I crumple some craft paper and cover it with burlap.
So, why use cotton & leaves in a fall arrangement? Well to start, I think cotton is great any time of year! It’s so southern, cozy & goes great in any arrangement.
I pair all of my arrangements with a great candle. The glow is so soothing & makes any house feel like more of a home.
