It's Lookin' Like Fall

It’s Fall, Y’all!

Pumpkins, candles & mums, oh my!

Don’t get me wrong, I love Summer, but there’s something about that first feeling of crisp Fall air that makes me giddy! It’s a season that oozes cozy!

From pumpkins to the warm colors & don’t even get me started on the Fall candle scents!

This year, I didn’t pick up any new Fall decorations, but I challenge myself each year to make different arrangements.

If y’all know a little bit about Kentucky, or Lexington, you know that Keeneland’s meets are in the Fall and the Spring, so I tried to bring that spirit to my Fall décor.

For this arrangement, I went full “Fall in Kentucky.”

I began with a wood slice, as well as a wooden coaster (I like to use my set of wooden coasters for decorating, rather than as a coasters.). In the back, I used an antique butter box and filled it with faux greenery and pieces of cotton. In front, I added a “D” monogram pumpkin on top of the coaster, as well as a tiny pumpkin in front, part of a set from Target.

The focal point of this arrangement is my Kayla Weber Nord print. Kayla is a super talented local artist! I love buying her prints & framing them for arrangements in our home! If you haven’t seen her work before, I absolutely recommend checking it out.

Keeneland Fall Decor
happy fall

For the arrangement on the other side of our entertainment center, I took a more traditional Fall look. I used a small basket that I bought at Target years ago, as well as mini white and orange pumpkins. These exact ones are no longer available, but it’s easy to find mini pumpkins just about anywhere this time of year.

I used some faux fall leaves, as well as greenery to give the arrangement some dimension.

I finished off this arrangement with a cute “Happy Fall” sign, as well as a couple of candles.

I love finishing my arrangements with candles. I think it adds a cozy & homey feel.

The more pumpkins the merrier, right?

Well, that’s at least my motto for the season!

Next to our entertainment center, I arranged a Fall themed pillow with a couple of pumpkins from Target (last year). I put those next to our bourbon stave basket from Bourbon Creek, filled with burlap, some faux greenery, mini pumpkins & cotton.

One thing I like to do when I’m decorating- find an element that I can carry into each of my arrangements. For this fall, it was the mini white & gold pumpkins. When I bought them, they came in a large pack, so it’s easy to pull them into multiple arrangements.

Fall kitchen

For our kitchen, I went back to my Keeneland theme.

I put a wooden box with greenery on top of a couple wooden slices. The focal point for this one- my Keeneland flag, as well as my Breeders’ Cup tray.

This November, the Breeders’ Cup Championships will be held at Keeneland, and while fans won’t be in the stands, I thought hubby & I could still celebrate at home!

The Keeneland flags can be purchased here. And, all things Breeders’ Cup championships, here.

Y’all, since we can’t go out to the races this year, why don’t we just decorate like we’re there this Fall? That’s what we’re doing in our home!

No matter how you decorate, make it your own. For me, I like to incorporate details that make me happy & fill our home with warm & cozy vibes.
