Decorating for Valentine's Day

“Love is the Bridge Between You & Everything”

-Rumi

Valentine’s Day may be in the middle of winter, but I think it’s a holiday full of warmth.

The flowers, the colors & the decadent flavors can truly make a heart swoon.

I love everything about Valentine’s Day!…not to mention that I love any occasion to decorate.

So, for now, I’m saying goodbye to the winter decor & hello to the hearts & flowers.

For this first arrangement on our entertainment center, I took a “Rustic Love” approach. I used two wooden slices as the base for the arrangement. Then, I selected four different different vases to sit on top. In the two wider vases in the back, I used mostly greenery. In the two front vases, I used these fun artificial allium pink stems from Target. To center the arrangement, I used a block “Love” sign and a couple of tea lights.

On the other side of our entertainment center, I put together something much more simple. I like to do this to make one side more of a focal point over the other. So, for this side, I started with another wooden slice. Then, I used the same textured decorative candle that I did in my “Winter Wonderland” arrangement. I coupled it with a Kate Spade gold polka dot vase with a faux eucalyptus stem from Target inside. Since I’m using a faux stem, I don’t like the bottom of my vase to be empty. For this one, I used a burlap ribbon to line the inside. As for the focal point, I used this wooden heart sign with gold details in the corners. I finished it off with another tea light.

Finally, I put together a little arrangement on the floor next to our entertainment center. It wouldn’t be home without some fun decorative pillows! I love this all red sequin pillow coupled with this stripe-and-polka dot-heart pillow. To go along with it, I added a rustic wooden box filled with burlap, pine cones & cotton (because, it wouldn’t be the South if there wasn’t some cotton involved?).

I took a rustic approach to Valentine’s Day, and it seems so homey & warm. I love taking decor that I’ve had for years & doing different arrangements with the same materials year after year.
