Cozy Winter Wonderland

“…The Color of Winter is in our Imagination.”

Terri Guillemets

Do y’all get the scaries when you take down your Christmas decor? I sure do!

It seems so easy to decorate for Christmas, doesn’t it? I LOVE Christmas! It makes our home seem so vibrant and warm. But now, we’re in that time between Christmas & Valentine’s Day. It’s cold & dreary.

This year, I’m embracing the cold & dreary and making it beautiful.

I change the decor on our entertainment center for each season. I love to use wood slices to start the building process for the arrangement. Using different sizes allows me to have depth.

In this arrangement, I used two different wood slices, then a snowflake lantern & gold striped vase. To get some texture, I added some faux greenery & snowflakes. The centerpiece of this arrangement is a wooden snowman, let it snow sign from Hobby Lobby. Who says ornaments have to just be for Christmas trees? I don’t! These small trees & wooden lanterns from Hobby Lobby are labeled as ornaments, but I think they make cute decor!

Up next, the other side of our entertainment center. I like the left & right sides to be different, but have complimenting elements. For the right side, I used a wood slice to begin, then white & gold sparkly letters from Marshalls: “S” for Sydney & “K” for my hubby, Kyle. Behind, I added a gold decorative candle that has texture & adds height to the arrangement. To complete the look, I added another white ornament tree, like the other side.

My final wintry arrangement is next to the entertainment center. I love any type of bucket or box. This winter white “blessed” bucket, I’ve had for years, but always enjoy using it to decorate in the winter. Inside the bucket, I added burlap, pine cones and some faux greenery. To tie this arrangement into what I have on the entertainment center, I added a mini wood slice & two matching white ornament trees.

Decorating for winter can be difficult, but if you embrace the cozy vibes, it can be great!
