Keeneland Summer Meet
“Cherish these moments - tomorrow they’ll be memories”
Y’all, let’s face it, 2020 has been nothing like we’ve imagined. Sporting events were cancelled, celebrations held virtually & many things have changed. But, if I’ve learned anything over the past few months, it’s to cherish each and every moment.
One Kentucky tradition that’s very near & dear to my heart is Keeneland horse racing. Hubby & I had one of our first dates at the races, we were married in front of Keeneland’s Library & we try to attend at least one race day per meet.
Meets are held at Keeneland twice a year, in the Fall and in the Spring. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 Spring Meet was postponed. Then, it was announced that there would be a 5-day Summer Meet at Keeneland with no fans.
Of course, I’m sad that I won’t be able to put on a dress, Hubby a bowtie & spend a day at the races…But, I am so grateful & blessed to be healthy. But hey, maybe we’ll dress up at home (haha).
So, while we can’t go watch the horses run in person, Hubby & I are celebrating the Summer Meet from our home.
Keeneland exudes the essence of Southern Hospitality & we were so excited when their team offered a way to celebrate from home.
In the spirit of horse racing, Keeneland is offering three different at-home celebration kits: Pick Two, Pick Three & Pick Four. Hubby & I purchased the Pick Three option. Each kit has options to choose how you would like to celebrate. For our kit, we chose a 24 oz. Keeneland Tervis Tumbler, a Maker’s Mark Keeneland Breeze 16 oz. Tervis Tumbler & a Clayton and Crume Keeneland Leather Horseshoe Coaster.
With each kit, Keeneland is adding a Summer Race Fan Pack. We love it! The pack includes a Summer Meet print, Keeneland’s famous brown butter popcorn & a set of saddle towel yard flags.
The Summer Race Fan Pack is making a great addition to our home. The print was created by Kayla Weber Nord, an extremely talented local artist. Y’all, we were already a fan of Kayla’s, but adding this print, brings a smile to our faces. The popcorn…OMG smells amazing! From the moment I opened our box, my mouth was watering. And, how cute are these flags! Y’all, I cannot wait to decorate with them!
So, while we won’t be on Keeneland’s beautiful grounds for this short meet, we will celebrate & cheer on our favorite horse while being healthy at home.
This post is in no way sponsored by Keeneland. I’m just a Kentucky gal looking for a way to celebrate a Kentucky tradition.
