Workin' Out with Peloton

“A Crown of Sweat & A Soul of Fire”

Ally Love

Y’all, raise your hand if you’ve ever thought this: I can’t get a good workout unless I go to the gym…I can’t be the only one with my hand up.

This Spring, I was definitely that person, until my hubby brought up the idea of joining the Peloton family. And today, I’m celebrating my 50th ride on the bike!

After talking with some friends who had already taken the plunge, we decided to join in some fun. Hubby and I ordered our Peloton Bike & joined the family. We were told it would take 5-9 weeks for our bike to be delivered, but amazingly it came in 9 days!

In the days before our bike was delivered, we decided to check out everything Peloton Digital had to offer. From Arms Toning to Outdoor Runs and even Dance Cardio (don’t laugh y’all, it’s some of the most fun we’ve had this Spring). Before our bike even graced our doorstep, we were already loving what Peloton to offer.

First day on the bike

Our bike arrived May 13th. Y’all, it was the smoothest delivery process ever, especially being in the middle of a pandemic! Two men arrived, unloaded our bike, making sure it was fully assembled and covered in plastic, and delivering it to our doorstep. Hubby & I carried it in, plugged it in & just like that were ready to ride!

I’ve taken cycling classes before & liked them, but y’all I’m here to tell you, I love our Peloton! One of my worries in joining the “workout from home” team was not having an in-person community to sweat along with you. After a few classes, I totally forgot about that concern. Hubby & I have joined a couple of Facebook groups for Peloton members. When you login to your Peloton account, you can find friends & when in a class cheer on fellow members by giving high-fives.

Intervals and arms

What’s my favorite ride? I’ve been trying a little bit of everything, but probably a 30-minute Intervals & Arms class. It combines the best of hill climbing, speed & arms toning.

Another thing I love? That you can tailor your workout to your needs. If I’m feeling tired & sore, I can do a low impact ride & a stretch. If I’m feeling like I need an extra push, I can take a longer, more challenging ride & a couple strength classes.

For me, I haven’t taken on a full initiative to lose weight, and y’all let’s face it, I like chocolate too much. I am trying to make healthy changes & since starting our Peloton journey, I have seen small changes.

So, cheers to 50 rides &

here’s to many more!
