Have you ever needed an outfit to wear to an event, but thought, “I have nothing to wear?” Believe me y’all, we all have. But, there’s a solution.
In today’s society where we’re posting photos to social media, it’s easy to feel like you don’t want to be an outfit repeater. I know I have- that’s when I discovered Rent the Runway. The first time I tried out Rent the Runway was for the Kentucky Derby in 2018.
After looking for the perfect outfit around town, I decided to do a quick search on Rent the Runway. I had heard some friends talk about it before, and thought: let’s check it out.
I did just that, and y’all I found the cutest Kate Spade dress for a great price! Rent the Runway has a policy that whenever you rent an item, you can rent a second size for free. So, if you’re ever worried that one won’t fit, you can try the second.
This dress was perfect! I worked with the lovely ladies at Two Chicks & Company in Lexington to create the perfect fascinator and even found jewelry as well.
Rent the Runway is perfect for weddings!
A standard rental is four days, so it’s perfect! If I’m going to an event on Saturday, I generally schedule the dress to be delivered to my home on Thursday.
This Jill Jill Stewart gown was so fun for a friend’s wedding! The back had an adorable cutout, and the a-line bottom made for a perfect night on the dance floor.
My gown paired perfectly with my hubby’s tux & black with white polka-dot bowtie & pocket square. I paired my gown with pearls of course. I wouldn’t be a southern gal without them!
Rent the Runway can be perfect in a pinch as well.

I found this cutout halter gown by Aidan Mattox last minute, and it was absolutely perfect! It only takes a couple of days to get your Rent the Runway order, and this one came just in time.
It was a bit more edgy than my style, but it was very fun!
The Central Kentucky Heart Ball is an amazing fundraiser, and one of the largest fundraising events I have ever attended.
For such a wonderful event, I needed a wonderful gown! This Slate & Willow black cut twirl gown was absolutely perfect!
At first glance, it seemed a little plain, but between adding a statement necklace & those cutouts- plain is far from mind.
The back of this gown has dainty buttons, adding a little something extra!
I would absolutely re-order this dress for another event!

This past spring, the Miss Kentucky Scholarship Organization brought back their annual fundraiser gala, the Crown of Kentucky Gala.
I loved this gorgeous Badgley Mischka gown! The top overlay was so flattering & fun! There was no need for a necklace, because there was already so much fun detail near my neck. The bottom of the dress has some stretch, making it really easy to move around.
After having such a great experience with Rent the Runway for the Kentucky Derby in 2018, I decided to do it again this year.
When planning our outfits, we found hubby’s jacket first. This Shinesty jacket is fabulous and perfect for the Kentucky Derby!
After deciding which of the fun colors in hubby’s jacket that I wanted to match, I went searching for the perfect dress.
I found this AQ blue mini dress, and it was perfect! It crossed in the front & the back, which added a fun touch.

This BCBG MAZAZRIA was perfect for a black tie summer wedding. The one-shoulder, cutout & slit were great for the right amount of edge and elegance. I paired it with some Sugarfix by BaubleBar earrings & block heels from Target.
This dress wasn’t the most comfortable dress I’ve rented, but let’s face it y’all, sometimes you have to sacrifice comfort for beauty!

I needed something to wear at the last minute…so, I turned to my trusty Rent the Runway app. I ordered it on Tuesday, and it came just two days later. I was even able to rent a second size as a back-up.
There has only been one time that I have worn my back-up size, but it definitely gives me a peace of mind when I haven’t worn a certain designer before.
This Parker Black Kaley Gown was perfect for Saturday night’s gala. The shoulders were a white sequin & pearl mix that gave the tiniest hint of shimmer. It has a slit up the middle front, that goes just above the knee.
If you’re looking for a perfect outfit for an event, but don’t want to spend an arm & a leg, Rent the Runway is a great option.
I’m a bit “fun sized” (nicer way to say short), so I have worried about length when ordering long gowns. Rent the Runway does offer some gowns in “short,” but if not, my solution has been to put on my highest heels.
