I may not be a good plant mommy (it’s a work in progress), but I do love flowers!

The first time I saw Floral Joy’s flower cart at The Olive Branch in Wilmore, I fell in love! Each of the blooms were so delicate & beautiful…and who can resist a “build your own bouquet bar?”

Meeting Joy (owner of Floral Joy), was like a breath of fresh air. We first met at Wilmore’s Night Market. She had her flower cart set up with some gorgeous blooms. Joy was so sweet & helped me to make a beautiful bouquet.

When I saw Joy was offering a Fall Floral Arranging Workshop using a pumpkin vase, my momma & I jumped at the opportunity.

Talk about a perfect southern Fall afternoon, y’all- There was a slight breeze on the back porch of The Olive Branch, and it couldn’t get much better.

Joy started off by telling us how her love for flowers began. It was so delightful! Then, she started demonstrating how to build a beautiful Fall centerpiece.

Joy provided stunning blooms from local Central Kentucky farms. The pumpkins, also local, were pretty shades of orange & green.

We began with a blank slate- a small vase filled with water inside our pumpkins. Joy told us she starts her arrangements with greenery, then moved onto the blooms and finally accent pieces.

We all worked to create our own masterpiece— each different & beautiful in its own special way. Joy came around the table to take a peek at each of our creations, having something unique to say about each one.
