Rock, Paper, Scissors

Remember the game “Rock Paper Scissors” that we all learned as kids?

People ask all the time, “How did y’all meet?”

It was August 25, 2010, our orientation week at Centre College. Our residence halls were paired up for “Hall Olympics.” To get to know each other’s names, our Resident Assistants asked our group to play Rock, Paper, Scissors.

We would pair up, play a round, then introduce ourselves. After the introduction, the loser would cheer on the winner until the group dwindled down to one.

Kyle DeLong & I paired up for the first round. He won that round, which he often likes to remind me, and I cheered him.

As they say, the rest is history. God works in mysterious ways & I am so grateful that he placed us in each other’s paths.
