Making a Wreath with Springhouse Gardens

“Traditions Touch Us, they Connect Us & they Expand Us.”

-Rita Barreto Craig

We all have Christmas traditions & y’all, I think Momma & I now have a new one! It’s making wreaths at Springhouse Gardens.

After seeing many photos on social media of friends making wreaths last Christmas, I was ready to mark my calendar.

Springhouse Gardens is truly a family business. It was back in 1995 that Richard & Debbie Weber & their children, Kayla and Mitch scouted the property that soon became Springhouse Gardens. And, I have to pause a quick moment to tell y’all just how wonderful an artist Kayla is! It’s through following her on social media that I was introduced to Springhouse Gardens. Last Spring was the first time I headed out there for a visit. They hosted Wine Down Wednesdays, which were full of beautiful plants, sipping on wine & spending time at the beautiful farm. During my few trips out, I met & made friends with Richard, Debbie & Kayla. They are so sweet & caring!

As the holiday season approached, I watched the Springhouse Gardens’ social media pages, ready to purchase tickets to make beautiful wreaths. Back in the Fall, I purchased tickets, ready to surprise Momma with a fun activity just before her birthday.

Welcome
Light Path

The day for our wreath workshop came last week. We headed out to the farm & it looked like something from a beautiful Hallmark Christmas movie! From the lights along the path, to the barn, everything was spectacular!

We started the evening off with Richard & Kayla giving us a tutorial of how we would take a wire wreath frame & transform it to a wonderful creation. After our tutorial, we went into the next room to pick out our greenery.

Inside the Barn

There are three parts to each wreath: the base, the filler & the accent. We were able to choose from many different fresh cuts from trees just feet away on the farm.

We worked around the wire frame as if it were a clock to full the prongs with fresh greenery. After filling all of the prongs, it was time to head to the next room for embellishments. That’s where we were able to choose from berries, pine cones & even beautiful bows made by Debbie.

I know what you’re thinking…you can only make these wreaths if you’re super creative. Y’all, that is simply not true! Each and every wreath is different & turns out great!

Momma & I loved how our wreaths turned out & we had so much fun making them! Richard, Debbie, Kayla & their team were so helpful in making sure everyone’s wreaths turned out perfectly!

While this was our first time in a Springhouse Gardens wreath-making workshop, it’s safe to say it won’t be our last.
